The Meerut Police in Uttar Pradesh have cracked a case where a Muslim man used a fake Hindu identity for trapping a Hindu woman in love, entering into sexual relations with her and making her sexual videos viral.

As per the woman’s statement in the first information report (FIR), the man told her “I wanted to teach you people a lesson”.

It is pertinent to mention here that such cases, where Muslim men fake a Hindu identity to trap Hindu women and later make their videos viral, are a frequent occurrence.

The man has been identified as 29-year-old Waseem Ahmed, a resident of Ajrara village that falls under Mundali Police Station in Meerut. Police say he is already married and has two children.

Waseem Ahmed’s “fake” Aadhaar card

The police have booked him for rape as well as forgery. Ahmed has been arrested and sent for judicial custody.

Copies of his wife’s Aadhaar card and his driving licence.

While his “fake” identity card shows his address as Zakir Hussain Colony in Meerut, his real identity cards show his address as a house in Ajrara. The birth date on all the ID cards is the same.

The police also found that by faking his identity as Dinesh Ravat, he worked in a local hospital as a nursing staff for about a year.

“He said I cheated you because I wanted to teach you people me a lesson,” the statement says.

Statement recorded in the FIR.

The police booked Waseem under IPC sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation), and launched an investigation.

They found that on his real Facebook account, made in the name of Waseem Ahmed, he has described himself as a reporter for Hindi daily Punjab Kesari.

A look at his account shows that he would share press cuttings daily, some of them saying ‘Waseem Ahmed’ in the byline. The font of the byline however looks different from the content of the reports.

When asked, the investigating police officer said that they had not inquired with Kesari office if he indeed worked there.

Two Facebook profiles maintained by the accused.

The police have also found videos in his phone of his sexual act with the woman which he had circulated in the area.

The officer told this correspondent that when the police interrogated him, Waseem said that he did this all with the motive of shaming a Hindu woman on the Internet. “We asked him if he was part of an organised gang. He said he functioned alone,” the officer said.

This correspondent called up the woman, but her brother requested not to comment on the matter.
