No Confidence Vote: PM Modi Doesn't Consider Manipur Part Of India, Says Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi initiated his address on the motion of no confidence in the Lok Sabha by highlighting the matter concerning Manipur.

In his speech, Gandhi noted that, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Manipur is not part of India.

The Member of Parliament for Wayanad stated, "The PM has not yet visited the region, as Manipur does not fall under the Prime Minister's definition of India. You have split the region into two segments. You have fractured the state of Manipur."

During the proceedings in the Lok Sabha, the Question Hour was disrupted due to protests from the Opposition concerning Manipur and was briefly adjourned until noon.

Later in the day, when the House reconvened at midday, Rahul Gandhi addressed the Lok Sabha.

Yesterday (August 8th), with the resolution of the Delhi Services Bill and only three sessions remaining before the conclusion of the Monsoon Session, there were clashes between the Opposition and the Treasury benches in both Houses over various matters.

The Lok Sabhba commenced its debate on the motion of no confidence against the government presented by the I.N.D.I.A. Opposition alliance.

Despite the government's majority, the Opposition is anticipated to capitalise on this opportunity to demonstrate their unity in preparation for the upcoming General Election next year.

The Rajya Sabha experienced a dramatic turn of events concerning the motion to suspend TMC MP Derek O'Brien due to unruly behavior.

Initially, the Chairman announced that the MP must leave the House, but later clarified that the motion to suspend him was not subjected to a vote, allowing him to continue participating in the proceedings.

In the Rajya Sabha, four Bills were passed while the Opposition was absent due to their walkout over the issue of violence in Manipur.

Throughout the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, the Rajya Sabha has succeeded in passing approximately a dozen Bills without any input from the Opposition.

The Opposition has consistently brought up the crisis in Manipur and staged walkouts, except during the debate on the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, which was successfully passed on Monday.
