India's Covid-19 Numbers On The Rise — Biggest Single-Day Jump In 184 Days

India recorded a 27 per cent increase in new Covid-19 cases from the day before, with 3,823 reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The single-day jump of 3,824 infections was the biggest in 184 days.

Covid-19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

There were 2,994 new Covid-19 cases and 16,354 active cases on Friday (1 April).

Delhi, Haryana, Kerala, and Rajasthan each reported one death due to Covid-19 In the last 24 hours.

However, Kerala reconciled one death. Active cases are at 18,389, which make up 0.04 per cent of the total infections.


The daily and weekly positivity rates were 2.87 per cent and 2.24 per cent respectively.

Over 441 million people have recovered from the disease, with a case fatality rate of 1.19 per cent.

In total, 92.18 crore tests have been conducted, with 133,153 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

Over 220 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered through the national vaccination campaign.

India's Covid-19 infections tally rose to 4.47 crore (44,722,605). The death toll climbed to 530,881.
