Intelligence agencies have reportedly alerted NIA and J&K police officers that Pakistan-based terror outfits LeT and JeM are planning to target the residences of J&K officers posted in Delhi and the NIA office in the Union Territory.
The agencies had earlier shared inputs on LeT and JeM terrorists planning to attack security forces via IED blasts on convoy routes from Baramulla towards Kupwara, Sopore and Bandipora.
Last month, five army personnel were killed when terrorists ambushed a truck near Bhatta Durian on the Bhimber Gali-Surankote road in J&K’s Poonch district.
The People's Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), a proxy of Pakistan-based terror outfit JeM, had claimed responsibility for the attack.
LeT may reportedly have aided the attackers with logistical support.
Pakistan-based Lashkar commander Rafiq Nai and his brother Shamsher Nai hail from the Balakote area of Poonch.
The Pakistan intelligence agency, ISI, also attempted to obtain information about the upcoming G20 meeting in Srinagar, says a central intelligence officer, a central intelligence officer was cited in the IE report as saying.
At the behest of the ISI, anti-India lobby groups and radical elements were indulging in propaganda against the hosting of G20 in J&K, the report added.
