  • After a 13-page background to the project authored by the two cofounders - Abhinav and Raghav Aggarwal - the rest of the book is AI generated.
  • All the illustrations in the book were self-created by the same AI tools which authored the book.

An Indian start-up has claimed to have created rules and algorithms, which allowed Artificial Intelligence (AI) to author a book – the world’s first instance of an entire book written by a machine.

This comes just a week after – as Swarajya reported-- US-based OpenAI placed an AI-driven writing bot-- ChatGPT – in the public domain, attracting over a million users worldwide and amazing users with its ability to generate multiple paragraphs of original text in answer to queries.

Writes Abhinav Aggarwal, co-founder (with his brother Raghav) of Mumbai-based AI solutions creator FluidAI in a LinkedIn post:

INDIAai the MeitY - NASSCOM AI resource addsAI writes small paragraphs for social media posts or a maximum of on-page-long blog posts. This would be the first time they have written a 102-page book. It took just three days to write the entire book.

Abhinav’s post continues:

The 122 page book entitled “Bridging the AI Gap: Why some leaders create immense value through AI while others don’t is available for sale at Amazon for Rs 350 (paperback) and Rs 246 (Kindle e-book).

This correspondent downloaded and read the Kindle edition of the book. It is impossible to judge whether it is written by a human or a machine – except for one quirk: AI numbers the first chapter ‘0’ rather than ‘1’.
