Uttar Pradesh
Home Minister Amit Shah
Speaking at the Hindu Gaurav Diwas event organized on the occasion of Kalyan Singh's death anniversary in Aligarh, Home Minister Amit Shah shared a few memories about the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
He said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Kalyan Singh called PM and said, "My life is blessed, and my life's purpose has been fulfilled today."
Referring to Kalyan Singh's refusal to order firing on karsevaks, Shah mentioned that every individual has a moment in their life that defines them.
"Kalyan Singh decided to vacate the Chief Minister's chair but pledged not to use bullets against karsevaks, this sent a very powerful message," the Home Minister recalled.
Shah remarked that the Congress had kept the temple issue pending for years, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the construction of the Ram Temple without any bloodshed as soon as the court's decision came.
He also reminded the crowd that Lord Ram will be enshrined in his magnificent temple by the beginning of 2024.
Shah stated that from August 2013 to the Lok Sabha election results, he had daily conversations with Kalyan Singh for guidance, and as a result, the BJP won 73 out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
He then appealed to the people of Uttar Pradesh to help the BJP win all 80 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, aiming to make Uttar Pradesh an invincible stronghold for the BJP.
Shah, in his characteristic style, raised his hand among the audience to express his commitment to securing victory for the BJP.
Shah enumerated the achievements of the Narendra Modi government over 9 years, highlighting the work done for the overall upliftment of the backward communities.
He noted that Modi had carried out the "yagna" of Garib Kalyan, working for the progress of the backward classes.
