Former UK home secretary Suella Braverman, who was dismissed by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, announced her resignation today with a strongly-worded social media post, accusing the Prime Minister of being "weak" and failing to fulfil key policies.

Braverman, in a three-page letter, claimed that her support played a role in Sunak's ascent to the office.

Braverman stated, "I agreed to support you because of the firm assurances you gave me on key policies... our deal was no mere promise over dinner, to be discarded when convenient and denied when challenged."

In the letter, she criticised Sunak for breaking promises related to reducing illegal migration, preventing migrant boats from crossing the English Channel, issuing statutory guidance on protecting biological sex in schools, and delivering on the North Ireland protocol.

Braverman asserted that Sunak's plan was not effective, resulting in record election defeats, failed resets, and a dwindling timeframe.

She also highlighted the recent Supreme Court ruling on the government's plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda and criticised Sunak's rejection of withdrawing from the European Convention on Human Rights as a "betrayal".

Braverman accused Sunak of opting for wishful thinking instead of making hard choices, leading to irresponsibility and leaving the country in a challenging position.

Braverman was dismissed following her comments about the police's handling of a pro-Palestinian march. She accused the police of "playing favourites" and claimed they largely ignored "pro-Palestinian mobs" in an article published by The Times.

The Labour Party alleged that her remarks increased tension at pro-Palestinian rallies, prompting increasing pressure on Sunak to remove her from the cabinet.
