In the city of Alexandria, an Egyptian policeman shot at Israeli tourists, resulting in the deaths of at least two Israelis and one Egyptian, as per Egypt's Interior Ministry.

According to a security official quoted by the Extra News television channel, which has close ties to Egyptian security agencies, the attack occurred at the Pompey's Pillar site in Alexandria and left another person injured.

The suspected assailant has been apprehended, as reported by the Associated Press.

Disturbing footage shared on social media depicted two individuals lying motionless on the ground at what appeared to be a tourist site, while another person was being assisted by a group of men. A woman's screams for an ambulance could be heard.

Israel's Zaka rescue service has sadly reported the loss of two lives in Alexandria. This tragic incident occurred amidst Israel's ongoing efforts to combat Palestinian militants following a significant incursion from Gaza.

Egypt, which has established peace with Israel many years ago, has played a crucial role as a mediator in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, it is important to note that anti-Israeli sentiment tends to escalate within the country, particularly during periods of violence.
