The British government is reportedly opposing the Delhi local authorities' plan to build a public toilet near the British High Commissioner's residence, citing security concerns.

It has been considered necessary to build a public toilet in the vicinity of the British High Commissioner’s residence in Delhi.

However, the British government has resisted the plan on security grounds, reports Economic Times.

Earlier, the Delhi police had removed barricades near the British High Commissioner's residence and mission.

The barricades were removed days after the UK government failed to protect the Indian embassy in London.

on 19 March, the Khalistani activists pulled down Indian tricolour at the India's High Commission in London amid the visible lack of security at the mission.

UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly had condemned the attack on the Indian High Commission by Khalistani elements, deeming it "unacceptable" in a statement issued on Thursday.

Cleverly said that a police investigation is ongoing and added that the UK Government was maintaing close communication with the Indian High Commission in London and Indian government.
