Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation at the fourth India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue on 11 April in Washington DC.
The US delegation will be led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin.
According to a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) statement, the dialogue would enable both sides to undertake a comprehensive review of cross-cutting issues in the India-US bilateral agenda related to foreign policy, defence and security with the objective of providing strategic guidance and vision for further consolidating the relationship.
Further, the 2+2 Dialogue will also provide an opportunity to exchange views about important regional and global developments and how the two countries can work together to address issues of common interest and concern, the MEA said.
As part of an ongoing and regular dialogue, Jaishankar will separately meet his US counterpart Secretary Blinken.
The External Affairs Minister, who will be on a two-day visit to US on 11 and 12 April, is also scheduled to meet senior members of the US administration to further advance the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh, who will be on a 4-day visit to the US from 11-14 April, will separately meet the US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin in Pentagon to discuss defence cooperation including defence industrial collaboration and capability building through military-to-military engagements, the Defence Ministry said in a statement on Friday (8 April).
Singh is also scheduled to visit the Headquarters of US Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) at Hawaii after his visit to Washington DC.
