In another shooting incident, a Pakistan-based terrorist affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Shahid Latif, was reported killed in Pakistan by India Today.
Shahid Latif, on the most-wanted list of Indian security agencies, was the mastermind behind the 2016 Pathankot terror attacks that resulted in the deaths of seven security personnel.
According to the report, Latif was killed by unknown assailants in Sialkot, Pakistan.
Back in November 1994, Latif was arrested in India on terrorism charges under the Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act (UAPA). He faced a trial and was subsequently imprisoned. Following the completion of his sentence in India, he was deported to Pakistan through the Wagah border in 2010.
Furthermore, Latif faced allegations related to the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane in 1999.
According to the findings of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Latif returned to the extremist network in Pakistan after his release in 2010. He remained on the Indian government's list of wanted terrorists.
