Two terrorists associated with the banned terror organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were fatally shot during an encounter with security forces, in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on Tuesday (10 October).
The encounter started in the early hours of 10 October, as part of an anti-militancy operation launched by security forces, acting on intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the Alshipora area of the district.
"Two terrorists killed. Search going on. Further details shall follow," stated the Kashmir Zone Police in a post on X.

The police asserted that one of the deceased LeT terrorist had a role in the killing of the bank guard Sanjay Sharma, earlier this year.
"Killed terrorists have been identified as Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq alias Abrar of terror outfit LeT. Terrorist Abrar was involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit late Sanjay Sharma," revealed Additional Director General of Police (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar in a post on X.
