The Gujarat government has recently approved an allocation of Rs 59.30 crore to provide infrastructure facilities in outgrowth areas of the urban centres — Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Amreli.
As per an official statement, the Suvarna Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana will undertake 80 projects to ensure that the residents in the outlying areas of these four cities will receive infrastructural facilities, reports Times of India.
The Suvarna Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana has been extended until 2024, and the Gujarat government has set aside a total amount of Rs 8,087 crore for the programme.
Following the approvals, Vadodara has been granted Rs 37.07 crore.
Further, Bhavnagar has been granted Rs 11.67 crore, Jamnagar received an allocation of Rs 2.30 crore, and Amreli has been granted Rs 8.26 crore.
The development projects will primarily focus on enhancing drinking water supply, stormwater drains, road infrastructure, and underground sewage and drainage facilities in the outgrowth areas of these four cities.
This approval is expected to provide much-needed relief and infrastructure development in these expanding urban areas.
The initiative underlines the importance of planned and well laid-out infrastructural networks and is aimed to improve the living standards of the residents living in the outgrowth areas of Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, and Amreli.
