Hyderabad's Regional Ring Road Phase-1: Telangana CM Sets Three-Month Timeline For Completion Of Land Acquisition

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to accelerate the Regional Ring Road (RRR) construction around Greater Hyderabad.

The proposed RRR is a 340 km, four-lane access-controlled expressway project around Hyderabad. The RRR was planned beyond the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and approved under Bharatmala Pariyojana's first phase.

Tasked with completing land acquisition within three months, the Chief Minister aims to overcome obstacles hindering the RRR's development.

The RRR Project has two components namely the northern part and the southern part.

The 158-km northern part will connect Sangareddy, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Pragnapur, Jagdevpur, Bhongir and Choutuppal.

The southern part goes through Choutuppal, Ibrahimpatnam, Kandukur, Amangal, Chevella, Shankarpally and Sangareddy.

The state government, responsible for 50 per cent of the land acquisition cost, has acquired 1,459.28 hectares out of the total 1,935.35 hectares required, reports Economic Times.

The state government's strategy involves dividing Telangana into three clusters: an urban cluster within Hyderabad ORR, a semi-urban cluster between ORR and RRR, and a rural cluster beyond RRR.

To expedite industrial growth, completion of the RRR project is essential. Reddy stressed the need for swift land acquisition, urging officials to call tenders for RRR (north) works.

Reddy affirmed the state government's commitment to bear any financial burden for RRR's timely completion, emphasising its pivotal role in easing transportation and facilitating the establishment of a semi-urban zone for accelerated development.
