Pakistan has briefed the envoys of the P5 countries - the US, China, Russia, the UK and France - over ‘ceasefire violations’ by India along the Line of Control (LoC).

Senior Pakistani officials briefed the Head of Missions of Permanent Members of UN Security Council about the "recent escalation of ceasefire violations by India on the LoC and Working Boundary," the foreign office said in a statement.

The briefing was conducted by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua and Director General Military Operations Sahir Shamshad Mirza in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The foreign secretary alleged that the ceasefire violations were taking place in complete disregard to the 2003 understanding and of International Law.

"Pakistan had displayed exemplary restraint but has been compelled to respond. Indian actions are a serious threat for the maintenance of regional peace and tranquility and may lead to a strategic miscalculation, she said. (PTI)
