The Congress party will begin to conduct a door-to-door campaign in Karnataka to raise funds for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, The New Indian Express has reported. The party aims to raise Rs 10,000 from every booth.
Half of the funds collected will be sent to the All India Congress Committee (AICC). As much as 20 per cent of the funds will be given to block committees. Pradesh Congress Committees and District Congress Committees will receive 15 per cent each of the funds collected.

The initiative has been labelled as ‘Jan Sampark’, with an initiative to activate grassroots level workers. The party aims to highlight the failures of the Modi government.
The campaign will go on from 2 October to 19 November, according to the AICC general secretary and Karnataka in-charge KC Venugopal. The state president of Congress, Dinesh Gundu Rao, said that the party intends to turn this exercise into an annual event.
