‘A Party Worker Will Become Maharastra Chief Minister One Day’ Says Shiv Sena Supremo Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray in an interview to the party mouthpiece Saamana said that he was confident about the prospects of a Sena worker one day rising to the coveted post of Chief Minister (CM) of Maharashtra, reports Hindu Busienssline.

Thackeray asserted that he had made this a promise to his father and party founder Balasaheb Thackeray that he would ensure that a party man would one day become the CM of the state.

Commenting on his son Aaditya Thackeray's entry into the electoral mud pit by contesting the upcoming state assembly elections from Worli constituency, party boss said that Aaditya's entry into electoral politics didn't mean his retirement from politics. He said, "I am very much around."

Thackeray's party will be contesting the polls on 124 of the total 288 seats in Maharashtra in an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by incumbent CM Devendra Fadnavis. The BJP will be contesting on 150 seats while the rest of the seats have been allotted to other smaller allies.
