Abdullahs In High Spirits, Claims 15-Member Nation Conference Delegation After Meeting Detained Leaders

A delegation of 15 senior leaders of the National Conference (NC) today (6 October) met with detained party leaders Farooq and Omar Abdullah at Srinagar, reports The Times of India.

The delegation which met with the detained leaders for the first time since the Parliament's nod to abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) discussed matters relating to upcoming local body elections and developments in the Valley.

Omar Abdullah during the meeting was seen clicking a selfie along with fellow party members at Hari Nivas. The meeting of the delegation with the former Chief Minister (CM) of the erstwhile state lasted for about 30 minutes.

After culminating the meeting with Omar, the delegation met with Farooq Abdullah. After the meeting, delegation's leader, Davinder Singh Rana shared that both Omar and Farooq Abdullah were in high spirits.

Rana added, "There is anguish about developments particularly about lockdown of the people and we, as a party, appeal that the political process to start and democracy to survive in Jammu and Kashmir political detenues anywhere and everywhere, whether from mainstream political parties or otherwise who have no criminal record, may be released to initiate the process and the hearts and minds of the people of Jammu and Kashmir are won."
