A Deputy Superintendent of Police from Kerala, B Harikumar who was dodging arrest after being accused of causing an electrician’s death was found hanging in his home, reports The Tribune.
The deceased was posted in Neyyattinkara, and has been on the run since 5 November when he reportedly pushed an electrician Sanal Kumar, following an altercation.
Kumar as a result fell on the road and was hit by a speeding car. Harikumar has been dodging arrest for the past eight days since the incident. He was reported to be hiding in Tamil Nadu and according to unconfirmed reports was likely to surrender before the police on Tuesday (13 November).
"God's verdict has come", said Kumar's wife Viji, who was on a day-long protest seeking justice at the same spot where her husband died.
Harikumar's bail application would reportedly have been considered in the lower court on Wednesday (14 November). There were widespread allegations that the police was helping Harikumar dodge arrest.
