Actions Louder Than Words? Targeted Over Silence On Cop Killing, Yogi Adityanath Government To Name Road and College After Him

After the death of SHO Subodh Kumar Singh by a violent mob, the Uttar Pradesh government announced today (6 December) that the Jaithari-Kuraoli road leading to the village of slain police Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh in Etah will be renamed as 'Shri Subodh Kumar Singh Shahid Marg’ and The State Dispensation has announced that an educational institution will also be named after Subodh Kumar, reports The New Indian Express.

The announcement comes directly after the meeting of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the family of Late Subodh Kumar Singh. The DGP OP Singh announced the details of the meeting and said “It has already been said that the family of the deceased is being provided with financial aid of 50 lakh rupees. Some bank loan was also taken by the family for the education of the children, and the government will also take care of the same. Informally, we will be assisting both the children of the deceased for coaching. The wife of the deceased will also be provided with an extraordinary pension."

The elder son of the deceased cop has expressed his trust in the Chief Minister and his government and said that he has the assurance that the culprits will be punished and justice will be served.

Subodh Kumar, along with a civilian, was killed in the mob which took place after the carcasses of 25 cattle were found in forests. The locals alleged that the corpses of the cows found were ‘illegally slaughtered.’
