In a shocking development, actor Chadwick Boseman, who played Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, died on Friday (28 August) from colon cancer at the age of 43.
The actor had earlier played Black icons such as Jackie Robinson and James Brown and later on starred in the hit Marvel movie as the superhero king from Wakanda.
He died at his home in Los Angeles area with his wife and family by his side. His family has reportedly said that Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago.
"It was the honor of his career to bring King T'Challa to life in Black Panther," said a statement posted to Boseman's twitter handle.
