After Trump ‘Baby Balloon’, London To Witness One Of Mayor Sadiq Khan In Yellow Bikini

Two months after a balloon depicting United States President Donald Trump as a baby was flown in London to protest against his visit to the United Kingdom, Londoners will be treated to another politician caricatured in a balloon – this time, their Mayor Sadiq Khan.

The crowdfunded campaign was initiated by Yanny Bruere, a British free speech advocate who runs a movement called Make London Safe Again that claims that under Khan’s tenure, crimes in London have skyrocketed.

Over 3,400 people have contributed to the campaign, raising $75,000. The theme of the balloon – Khan in a yellow bikini refers to a 2016 ad that the mayor had banned across Transport for London (TfL) that showed a woman in a yellow bikini with the tagline ‘Are you beach body ready?’.

Khan, talking to ITV, said that people were welcome to see him in a bikini, but added that yellow wasn’t his colour.

The London mayor was vocal about his criticism of Trump over his tweets that alleged that Khan hadn’t done much following terror attacks in 2017.

The balloon is set to fly on 1 September.
