In line with its expansion plans, UrbanClap, the Indian home services marketplace on Wednesday (9 October) announced the launch of operations in Australia.

Australia is UrbanClap's second destination outside of India, after the brand's successful launch in the UAE last year.

"We will launch first in the Greater Sydney Area. We have created a new axis in matching demand to supply and we look forward to contribute to building a healthy service eco-system in Australia," said , Co-founder of UrbanClap Abhiraj Bhal in a statement.

According to the company, the gap between service providers and customers is an opportunity in a market like Australia.

UrbanClap aims to bridge this gap and provide reliable services by matching quality service professionals with the service seekers.

Based in Gurugram, the company has rapidly expanded its presence across dozens of Indian cities, and it may soon reach the coveted unicorn status as its most recent valuation was $933 million.
