Controversial Congress leader Digvijay Singh, who has in the past accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of being involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attack, has triggered another controversy.

Talking to local media in Madhya Pradesh, Singh said all ‘Hindu terrorists’ caught in the country so far have been members of the RSS in the past.

Jitne bhi Hindu dharma wale aatankwadi pakde gaye hai sab Sangh ke karyakarta rahe hai ,” he was quoted by the Indian Express as saying. “Nathu Ram Godse who killed Mahatma Gandhi was also part of RSS. This ideology spreads hate. Hate leads to violence and violence leads to terrorism,’’ he told reporters

According to NewsX, he said that the blasts which took place in Malegaon and Mecca Masjid were planted by people influenced by the Sangh’s ideology.

In 2010, when the Congress-led UPA was in power, Singh had released a book titled 26/11 RSS Ki Saazish? (26/11, An RSS Conspiracy?) in Mumbai.

Asked to speak on the issue, Congress' spokesman Manish Tewari refused to comment claiming he was not aware of Singh's remarks.
