On the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the appointment of nine advisors to the deputy chief minister of Delhi and other ministers in the government has been cancelled, Times of India has reported.

The list of posts approved for the ministers in the Delhi government did not have the nine posts, a letter of the Administration Department of Delhi said. Citing a letter from the MHA, it said that the Aam Aadmi Party government did not take prior approval of the Central government to appoint officials on these posts.

In its letter, the MHA noted that 'services' under Delhi government is a subject reserved for the Central government.

The Delhi government , however, said that it had taken prior approval from the Centre for these appointments. National spokesperson of AAP, Raghav Chadha, tweeted a letter as proof, calling MHA's move "a diversionary tactic".

"Impressive diversionary tactics by the MHA, at the behest of BJP. To divert attention from a spate of rapes, cash crunch etc. an opportune time to rake up non-issues with AAP like retrospective sacking for a post I held for 45 days in 2016 for a paltry sum of Rs.2.50/-," he tweeted.
