Former Kerala High court Justice Kemal Pasha came down heavily on the LDF government, the police in particular on their dawdle in arresting Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulakkal, the prime accused in sexual assault of a nun reports Matrubhumi.
Justice Pasha alleged an unholy nexus between the bishop and the higher-ups in the police department for the delay in arrests.
“The Director General of Police (DGP) says the investigation is in its climax, but no arrests have been made so far...Isn’t that unusual?” says the former HC Judge. “Isn’t the DGP ashamed?” he added slamming the state police chief.
Recent developments in Kerala is horrifying, Kemal Pasha said while addressing a protest staged by nuns at Kochi.
Both government and opposition parties are now supporting such depredatory men who feed on the belief that woman loses their capacity to react when they get enrolled as a nun, he spoke tempestuously.
This statement comes after controversial Kerala MLA P C George called the victim a prostitute. Three more women have come forward to allege that Mulakkal sexually abused them. Nuns too have protested against the police and government inaction in this matter.
