Army Destroys Three Pak Posts After BSF Man, Girl Die In Ceasefire Violation; Three Pakistani Soldiers Reported Dead

In response to the ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir in which a Border Security Force (BSF) officer and a minor girl died, the Indian Army on Monday (1 April) destroyed at least three Pakistani border posts along the line of control, inflicting critical injuries to a large number of Pakistani soldiers, Daily Pioneer has reported.

Pakistani shelling on late Monday (1 April) afternoon resulted in death of a five-year-old child Sobia and injuries to two other persons in Shahpur sub-sector along the LoC, according to officials, reports India Today.

According to the reports, six houses were damaged in the intense shelling by Pakistani troopers using heavy weaponry and 120 mm mortars. Thirteen civilians and four BSF personnel sustained splinter injuries. The local police, despite heavy shelling, safely evacuated injured residents from forward areas of Mankote.

The martyred BSF officer, who succumbed to injuries after Pakistani shelling, was reportedly identified as Inspector T Alex Lalminlun.

As per the Daily Pioneer, The Indian Army, in response, retaliated strongly and effectively. The daily quoted local reports as saying, “At least three Pakistani posts were destroyed in retaliatory strikes by the Indian army”. According to the local intelligence reports, around 12-15 Pakistan Army soldiers were present in these posts when Indian Army hit back - out of which 3 have reportedly died.

However, there was no official confirmation on the extent of the damage inflicted on the Pakistani side.
