The Army on Sunday (10 April) night foiled a major infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of North Kashmir.

Four heavily armed terrorists, wearing Pakistan army’s snow dress, were killed in the encounter. There was no report of casualty and the combing operations are still under way.

The official twitter handle of Northern Command of Indian Army tweeted:

The infiltration bid came on a day when violence marred polling for the Srinagar Lok Sabha by-elections, where eight people were killed and about 100 security personnel were injured.

On Sunday evening, the terrorists fired upon a police station in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The police retaliated forcing the terrorists to flee.
