Delhi Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal who earlier showed fever-like symptoms has tested negative for coronavirus on Tuesday (9 June), NDTV reported.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief had been into self-isolation at his official residence since Sunday after he developed symptoms that seemed like those of COVID-19 such as fever and sore throat.
However, earlier on Tuesday, AAP sources quoted by NDTV said there was some improvement in CM Kejriwal’s health.
Soon after Kejriwal complained of fever, all his meetings were cancelled since Sunday afternoon, as per doctors’ advice who had also asked the Delhi CM to undergo a test on Tuesday.
According to AAP leader Raghav Chaddha, CM Kejriwal’s health was a big concern as he is also a diabetes patient.
Delhi has witnessed a massive surge in coronavirus cases with reporting over 1,000 cases for several consecutive days.
According to the Union Health Ministry data until Tuesday morning, the national capital had confirmed 31,309 positive COVID-19 cases, while 905 had succumbed to the disease. The number of active cases on Tuesday stood at 18,543 and 11,861 have been completely cured.
