Twenty people including three children lost their lives and many were injured on Tuesday (2 June) after three incidents of landslide in three districts of the Barak Valley in Assam, Hindustan Times reported quoting officials.
According to infomation received so far, six people died in Karimganj district, seven each in Cachar and Hailakandi due to the natural calamity early today. The landslide is said to have taken place after non-stop rainfall for the last few days.

Assam is also experiencing severe floods in many regions which have claimed at least nine lives across the state.
Lakhs of people have reportedly been displaced in Assam as over 350 villages in seven districts -- Nalbari, Goalpara, Nagaon, Hojai, West Karbi Anglong, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia -- have been affected by the floods.
