Union Ministry of AYUSH launched the e-AUSHADHI website on Wednesday (13 February) to facilitate the online licensing of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy drugs and related matters.
This portal is expected to promote increased transparency, improved information management facility, improved data usability and increased accountability in the AYUSH medicine ecosystem in the country.
Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Yesso Naik, has stated that timelines will be fixed for processing of application through the portal with SMS and e-mail status updates at each step of the process.
He added that such an initiative of the Ministry of AYUSH was a reflection of the NDA government’s commitment towards e-governance, ease of doing business and Make in India.
“(The) Ministry endeavours to come out with new initiatives and solutions to address the problems faced by practitioners, manufacturers and consumers of AYUSH medicines,” said Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH.
First International Conclave
AYUSH Conclave, the first-of-its-kind international event, which showcases the Indian systems of medicine on a global platform, will be held in Thiruvanthanpuaram from 15 to 19 February.
Delegated will include research scholars, industrialists, representatives from various government agencies, NRIs, are expected to attend the conference.
A Business Conclave, a Start-up conclave, a drug policy workshop, and discussions on AYUSH-based health tourism, and a farmers’ meet will also be organised on the sidelines of the event.
