Yoga guru Swami Ramdev has launched a new television channel to expand the reach of Vedas, Darshan, Upanishadas, Ramayana, Mahabharata and Gita to every home, Hindi daily Navbharat Times has reported.
The channel, named Vedic, will promote Indian culture through the learning of the Vedas and other Hindu religious scriptures.

After taking over Aastha channel, Swami Ramdev was planning to launch two new channels exclusively for bhajans and Vedas, Times of India had reported in 2009.
"Just like Swami Ramdev has a five-and-a-half-hour yoga show on Aastha national and Aastha international, the two channels will also run under the guidance of Swami Ramdev. He will have his own segments in the channels besides that for well-known exponents of Indian culture, music and dance," S K Tijarawala, Ramdev's spokesperson at that time, was quoted by the daily as saying.
