As per former BJP MP Tarun Vijay, the series had earlier featured the likes of Babur and Aurangzeb and in contrast would now retell the story of Chola King Raja Raja Chola who ruled most of present-day South India from 985 CE to 1014 CE.
Chola was also one of the few Indian rulers to use his naval might to annexe a region. During his reign, there were naval campaigns launched which resulted in the capture of Sri Lanka along with the Malabar Coast and the Maldives.
His administrative skills also helped the efficient and smooth running of the state as his observation in 1000 AD helped organise his country into smaller units known as Valanaadu which was ruled by a prince or official who reported to the king.
The series would be aired in Hindi on 9 November at 9.30 pm.
