To further ease covid-19 related curbs, the Karnataka government has allowed malls and other activities from Monday (5 July).

With revised guidelines applicable from 5 July till 19 July, economic activities will resume in Bengaluru after two months.

Though the state government has lifted the weekend curfew (from 7 pm on Friday to 5 am on Monday), the night curfew will continue to be imposed from 9.00 pm to 5.00 am.

Under the revised guidelines, metro, public transport, swimming pools, sports complexes, shopping malls, restaurants and bars are allowed.

While 100 guests are allowed at marriages and family functions, 20 people can attend the last rites, reports Livemint.

The Namma Metro Train Services in Bengaluru will be available from 7 am to 8 pm on all days from 5 July.

"The metro will operate at a frequency of 5 mins to 15 mins during peak and non-peak hours from Monday to Friday and with increased/decreased frequency on Saturday, Sunday, and General Holidays depending on the patronage," the government said.

The government has, however, not allowed the opening of cinema halls, multiplexes and pubs. Also, all types of religious and political gatherings are disallowed.
