Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya on Wednesday (18 December) raised serious concerns regarding the law and order situation in Trinamool Congress-ruled West Bengal.

His reaction came after he was surrounded by a crowd in Navgram while on his way to Murshidabad. Taking to Twitter, the BJP In-charge in the state claimed it to be a Muslim crowd that had surrounded his car from both sides, while complaining that the police was not responding to his calls.

In the video posted on Twitter by Vijayvargiya, the crowd can be heard chanting slogans against the newly amended Citizenship Act (CAA) and the ruling party in centre.

A couple of Incidents of BJP leaders and supporters being hounded by Anti-CAA protesters have surfaced in past few days.

In another incident reported, an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Paridhad (ABVP) member was allegedly beaten up by the Students Federation of India (SFI) in Kerala for speaking in favour of the CAA.

The incident happened Wednesday morning at 9.30 am. Three ABVP members were taken to a private hospital in Thrissur with serious injuries, reports Mathrubhumi.

Reportedly, the ABVP had tried to organise a seminar within the campus, but wasn’t allowed to after the opposition by SFI and ABVP had to organise a seminar outside the campus, by the road.
