After a health emergency was declared in Delhi yesterday (1 November) by the Supreme Court-mandated EPCA owing to unprecedented and unseen levels of pollution in the capital city, senior member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sanjay Singh alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party-led governments have polluted the environment with their polluted mindsets, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The statement by Singh came after Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal led Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) announced the closure of all schools till 5 November in the light of the pollution surging to 'severe-plus' levels.
Singh, who is also a member of the Rajya Sabha, meanwhile hailed CM Kejriwal for stopping construction activity in the capital city and for implementing the third edition of the contentious Odd-Even car rationing scheme.
Singh also claimed that the CM Kejriwal led government in the Union Territory had carried out massive plantation drives while blaming the states of Punjab and Haryana and the Union Government for allegedly doing nothing to address the menace of pollution.
