After the destruction caused by Cyclone Fani in Odisha, help has been pouring in from across the nation to the state in the dire hour. The latest of the big names to join the contributors is actor Akshay Kumar.
Kumar has donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the Odisha cyclone victims. Previously, he has also contributed Rs 5 crore for Ministry of Home Affairs' ‘Bharat ke Veer’ initiative for the armed forces, reports Hindustan Times.
The Bollywood actor had also donated Rs 1 crore to the rain ravaged Chennai in 2015 for relief work. Similarly, he had also donated to the Kerala Chief Minister's Relief Fund last year after incessant rains and floods had devastated huge swathes of Kerala.
Meanwhile, Odisha government has made an appeal to the people to join the state government's efforts to rebuild Odisha and help ameliorate the lives of millions affected by the cyclone.
