The Bombay High Court has directed rape-accused son of Kerala CPI (M) Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan to undergo a DNA test upon hearing a petition lodged by him seeking to quash the charges of rape against him, reports Bar and Bench.
Binoy Kodiyeri, the accused, had moved the High Court requesting to quash the First Information Report (FIR) registered against him by a 32-year-old woman.
The woman had brought Binoy to the court over allegations of sexually exploiting her on a foul pretext of a marriage proposal. The victim has said that she has a child from her relationship with Binoy.
The complainant said that she was kept in dark about the fact that Binoy was already married and it was only after seeing the photos of him with his wife on a social media site that she realised that she was cheated. A complaint had been registered at the Oshiwara police on 13 June.
Earlier, Binoy had refused to give his blood samples for a DNA test to the Oshiware Police Station citing that the matter was before the High Court
