Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya revealed on Tuesday that around 96 countries including the likes of the United States of America (USA), the United Kingdom (UK) along with many European and middle-eastern countries have agreed to mutually recognise the Covid-19 vaccination certificates with India.
Mandaviya further explained in an official statement that the central government is carrying on with its communication with several countries so that the beneficiaries of the world’s “largest Covid vaccination programme are accepted and recognised.”
This will further ease the process for travel, education and tourism purposes.
“At present, 96 countries have agreed to mutual recognition of vaccination certificates and also those [countries] who recognise Indian vaccination certificates of travellers fully vaccinated with Covishield/WHO approved/nationally approved Covid vaccines,” Mandaviya was quoted in a report by the Times of India.
Moreover, people travelling from these concerned nations are also given some relaxations as expressed in the guidelines issued with respect to international travel by the health ministry.
The international travel vaccination certificate can be downloaded from the CoWIN portal for people wishing to travel abroad.
