Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is scheduled to arrive in Delhi on Tuesday (28 Tuesday), reports Zee News. The visit comes just over a week after stepping down as the Chief Minister following a feud with Navjot Singh Sidhu.
As per sources, the senior Congress leader is expected to hold a series of meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda.
The proposed meeting has also triggered intense speculations about the Punjab Congress leader joining the BJP in the days to come. However, there is no official conformation from any side on the matter.
Earlier on 18 September, Captain Amarinder Singh had resigned as the chief minister of Punjab declaring that he feels "humiliated" at the manner in which he was treated by the Congress high command.
He stated that he won’t accept state Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu as the next CM or the party face in the Assembly polls. He even called Navjot Singh Sidhu "incompetent" and "anti-national".
