Cattle Smugglers Abduct Girl Along With Animals In Uttar Pradesh: Report

Cattle smugglers on Saturday (17 August) night abducted a girl from her house in Mungra Badshahpur in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, reports Dainik Jagran. They left the girl on Pratapgarh road after being chased by the police.

According to the report, around 1.30 am, cattle smugglers first loaded a buffalo onto their pickup truck from the house of Ganga Maurya, who lives in Pal Ka Poora on Pratapgarh Road. They also tried to abduct a girl who was sleeping outside her house but had to run away after she began shouting. They reportedly snatched her mobile.

After this, they reached Naya Bazar Mohalla at 2.07 am where they abducted a girl, put her into the vehicle and fled the spot. The family of the girl informed the police about her abduction following which the police started searching for the cattle smugglers.

Fearing that police might apprehend them, the cattle smugglers left the girl near Satwan village on Pratapgarh Road.

After the girl was freed, the police registered a case of molestation against unknown cattle smugglers after family members filed a complaint.

Following the incident, activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other organizations reached the police station and demanded arrest of the cattle smugglers. The activists feared that the girl might have been gang-raped.

The police sent the girl to District Women’s Hospital for medical inspection. The police claimed that the pickup truck of the cattle smugglers has been captured in the CCTV footage and expressed confidence that they will be soon arrested.
