Amid rising Covid-19 cases in the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it has cancelled the board examinations for Class X students. The board examinations for Class XII have been postponed.
As per an ANI report, the Class X result will be announced by the board based on an objective criteria which will be developed by CBSE.
Board Exams for Class 10th cancelled & 12th postponed. Results of Class 10th will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Fresh dates for Class XII boards will be announced later. Situation will next be reviewed on 1 June.
This decision by the Education Ministry came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and other senior officials in the Ministry today to discuss the issue of holding CBSE Board exams amid demand from students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders to cancel it due to Covid-19 surge.
A meeting on the issue was also organised by the Ministry of Education and the CBSE to discuss all aspects related to the board exams where it should be postponed, or it should be held following Covid protocols.
