The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to increase the number of evaluation centres leading to the appointment of more teachers for the evaluation of grade X and grade XII examinations.

Deccan Chronicle reports the decision has been taken to ensure error-free and timely evaluation of answer sheets. The decision will come as a relief to students of class X and class XII who are constantly tensed and worried about evaluation errors and delay in results.

Past years has seen results delayed extensively as well as students reporting many evaluations errors, resulting both time and money being spent in the process.

Prof. Narsimha Reddy, Principal, Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, said, “Of late, it has become a bit inconvenient for CBSE students as their results are declared after all other school boards announce boards. There is definitely some tension as many undergraduate colleges and universities start admissions in early April or May. This decision of the CBSE is welcome as it will give students more time to work their options.”

The CBSE has requested schools to update the data of teacher's experience so they can appoint them for examination and evaluation duties.

Principal Anjali Razdan of the P Obul Reddy Public School has praised the CBSE’s decision to increase evaluators. “The timing is just right it has started in October as against December or January when these steps would be initiated earlier. It’s a sign of efficiency and good governance of the board,” she said.
