The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has received a fax with information about the person involved in the recent examination paper leaks, The Free Press Journal has reported.

The fax has named a person from Sector 8, Rajinder Nagar in New Delhi as the culprit behind the Class 10 and 12 paper leaks. An earlier complaint received from an unknown source had claimed that the perpetrator ran a coaching institute in the area and that two schools in the vicinity were also complicit in the crime.

CBSE Class 12 Economics paper held on 26 March and Class 10 Maths paper held yesterday (28 March) were reportedly leaked on social media before the exams and CBSE has now announced a re-exam for the two subjects.

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has meanwhile set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case. Police teams have been conducting raids at various places in the capital since the news of the leak broke out yesterday.

Union Human Resource Development minister Prakash Javadekar had earlier said that a new system will be constituted to ensure that no such leaks happen in the future.
