The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked the state government of Odisha to impose CrPC section 144 around examination centres, where class X and class XII board exams would be held from 15 February to 4 April, reports The Pioneer.

The step by CBSE is reportedly being taken for the first time in the state, in the light of paper leaks in 2018.

The CBSE chairman, Anita Karwal has asked the state government to boost the security for the examination centres across Odisha.

According to the report, examinations will be conducted at 124 schools across the state, despite having 459 CBSE affiliated schools.

"Adequate police personnel need to be deployed near examination centres in all 30 districts," Karwal was quoted saying in the report.

The examinations will be held from 10 am to 1.30 pm and the board has asked the state to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the examination. Over 33 lakh students would appear for the class X and XII board exams across the country.
