The Government yesterday (2 August) notified new guidelines for international passengers arriving in India, as international flight operations are set to resume in India starting 8 August, reports Economic Times.

As per the newly issued guidelines, each traveller to India will have to mandatorily submit a self-declaration form on newdelhiairport.in at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled travel.

Further, upon arrival, the travellers will be bound to undergo mandatory 14 days of quarantine, of which seven days will be institutional quarantine at the traveller's own cost, and another seven days will be home isolation with self-monitoring of health.

The mandatory provision on institutional quarantine shall only be relaxed for compelling cases of human distress like pregnancy, the demise of someone in the family, serious illness, or in case of the parent(s) with children of the age of 10 years or below. These cases, however, will have to practice 14 days of home quarantine.

Meanwhile, the institutional quarantine can be avoided by the passengers if they submit a negative RTPCR test report on arrival at the Indian airports. The test must have been conducted within 96 hours of undertaking the journey, and the report of the same would have to be uploaded on the aforementioned portal for consideration.
