Chartered Accountancy Body ICAI Invites Practicing CAs To Provide Feedback On GST Implementation

The Institute of Chartered Accountancy of India (ICAI) has invited practising chartered accountants (CA), aspiring students and members of the general public to participate in a survey for feedback on GST implementation in India.

As per the notice on its official website, this survey would be published as part of a research paper to be publicised later this month.

It states that after the initial hiccups, the industry has started showing signs of stabilisation. The notice adds that the expertise of CAs put them in the right position to give feedback over GST implementation and how to make it a robust, simple, fair and transparent law to improve ease of doing business and facilitate trade.

In total there are 25 questions in the survey, some of which are:

  • The implementation of GST has facilitated ease of doing business
  • GST impact on multi-state organisation dealing in goods, services
  • The implementation of GST has facilitated seamless flow of credit
  • GST has helped in easy movement of goods
  • The implementation of GST has facilitated in reduction of overall tax
  • The implementation of GST has reduced tax evasion
  • The impact of GST on cascading (Tax on Tax)
  • Introduction of common GSTN portal
  • The implementation of GST has reduced interaction/visits to department
  • The implementation of GST has reduced interaction/visits to department
  • The impact on working capital requirement
  • The cost of doing business of SME
  • The implementation of GST has increased the foreign companies trade in India
  • The time required in preparation for filing returns has been reduced
  • The implementation of GST has reduced paperwork for return
