Indian Oil Corporation Limited has launched a doorstep delivery service of fuel in Chennai on Thursday (20 December), reported Economic Times. First started in Pune back in May, the service aims to provide hassle-free fuel supply to end users. This service also spares customers the trouble of having to carry fuel in containers, thereby making the process safer.

The delivery vehicle is affixed with a mobile dispenser filled with fuel, with a capacity of 6,000 litres. The vehicle was flagged off by Executive Director of Indian Oil Corporation R Sitharthan, at an inaugural event at Chennai’s Chandini Enterprises (Indian Oil Petrol Pump) located in Kolathur.

Economic Times quoted a statement from IOC as saying, “The customer can place orders through an android mobile application (REPOSE APP). The minimum order would be 200 litres and for quantities exceeding 2,500 litres, the receiver should have PESO license for storage.”

Fire extinguishers have been attached to the vehicle. Upon receiving the order from the customer, which includes specifications like address, mobile number, required quantity and delivery time, the dispenser would be dispatched for delivery.
