The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)‘s recruitment notification for the 2019 civil services examination may be delayed as per a report by Financial Express.

The UPSC is likely to recruit for around 900 posts of which 180 posts will belong to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The UPSC wants to increase its workforce and has hence reserved 180 posts for the IAS till 2020.

The Prelims examination is set to be held on 2 June and for the successful candidates, Mains would be conducted on 29 September.

The official examination notification though may be reportedly delayed as the UPSC will possibly try to include the 10 per cent Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota recently passed by the Indian Parliament.

An EWS quota in the examination would also mean that the students would get their own cut-off.

Currently the scheduled date for the notification release is 19 February and the last application date is 18 March.
