The Indian embassy at Washington DC has initiated free weekly classes to promote Hindi and Sanskrit.

The Indian Express reported that the classes will be held for an hour, and will be taken by Dr Mox Raj, who is a teacher of Indian culture at the Indian embassy. This was announced through a statement released by the embassy.

The date of commencement of the classes will be informed at the earliest, the embassy statement said. Classes will be held at the embassy itself and those interested can sign up.

The Hindi classes will be held every Tuesday between 6 pm and 7 pm, while the Sanskrit classes will be held every Thursday around the same time.
